The Rogue Alpaca Sled is a new adaptation of our Echo Dog Sled, featuring a set of single-formed, bent steel handles and a unique, loadable pan attachment. As seen during its debut at the 2022 CrossFit Games, the Alpaca adds significant versatility and efficiency to any sled workout, as the user can quickly grab-and-add weight to the 21.5” x 13.5” steel pan in the form of kettlebells, dumbbells, sandbags, etc., without concern of the items falling out during use. Traditional weight plates can also still be used simply by sliding the included weight stack spacer over the sled’s plate post.

As seen during its debut at the 2022 CrossFit Games, the Alpaca adds significant versatility and efficiency to any sled workout, as the user can quickly grab-and-add weight to the 21.5” x 13.5” steel pan in the form of kettlebells, dumbbells, sandbags, etc., without concern of the items falling out during use. Traditional weight plates can also still be used simply by sliding the included weight stack spacer over the sled’s plate post.
Because the Alpaca Sled uses an Echo Dog Sled as its base, customers who already own an Echo Dog Sled can choose to order an Alpaca Handle Kit and/or Alpaca Pan Kit a la carte, which can then be attached to the existing sled using ½” x 1-½” Hex Bolts.

The primary components of the Alpaca Sled are manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, and are finished in our Texture Black Powdercoat.
Please Note: The plate post does NOT need to be removed when assembling the Alpaca pan onto the Echo Dog Sled. A 2” diameter hole allows the pan and weight stack spacer to be slid right over the post. The post can also be removed at any time while using the Alpaca to take advantage of the full loadable footprint of the pan.

Key Features of the Rogue Alpaca Sled
Steel Pan
Made from 3/16” welded steel, the Alpaca pan attachment measures approx 30” x 22” x 4” with a loadable floor dimensions of 21.5” x 13.5”. It conveniently bolts directly to the frame of the Echo Dog Sled, and still allows for the regular use of the sled’s weight post and pulling anchor points thanks to a 2” diameter center hole and two carabiner holes. Athletes and coaches can use the pan to quickly add or remove weight in the form of sandbags, dumbbells, kettlebells, etc., as seen in action during the Alpaca Sled event at the 2022 CrossFit Games. Users can remove the plate post at any time to utilize more of the full loadable footprint of the pan.
Optional Improved Handles
Included standard with the complete Alpaca Kit, or available a la carte as an upgrade for current Echo Dog Sled owners, this pair of single-formed bent steel handles measure 1.9” in diameter and can be positioned on either end of the sled, at heights of 31.75” and 12” respectively. With more surface area than traditional sled handles, they enable both vertical (neutral grip) and horizontal (pronated grip) hand placement, as well as upright and low-angle body positioning. Both handles are spaced 20” on center and weigh 28 LBS combined.
Weight Stack Spacer
The included spacer can be placed over the weight post and positioned in the Alpaca Pan, where it will help to protect both the pan and any added weight plates from metal-on-metal damage. It also helps prevent pinch points when loading plates. When the stack spacer is installed, the loadable length of the sled’s plate post is reduced from 17” to 14”.
Echo Dog Sled Value
The Alpaca Sled is built around the original Rogue Echo Dog Sled, and brings over the key benefits of that unit, including the 0.25” plate steel construction, compact footprint, laser-cut Rogue branding, and optional protective plastic skis and dragging strap. Customers who already own an Echo Dog Sled can also order an Alpaca conversion kit (either the Handles, the Pan, or both) to upgrade their current sled.
